Hello, hello, and welcome to The Freq Show. I am Jaclyn Steele Thurmond. This is Sam Thurmond. And today we are going to be talking about why the world needs thought healing tools now more than ever. This I feel like is an episode that is very close to my heart because over the last two years, really since I started reading Gary Renard's book, The Disappearance of the Universe. So maybe it's been longer than two years, I have not fully understood, but started to go down the rabbit hole of how impactful thought healing is. And I think this was first introduced to me when I started reading work by Louise Hay. She wrote, You Can Heal Your Life. But I think our thoughts, I know it. Our thoughts really dictate the trajectory of our lives. And we are living, you know, if you go like from an eagle-eye perspective or even out to space, there's so much chaos in our world. Then you go into our country, there's so much chaos in our country. Then you look at our state, there's chaos in our state. Then you go down to our city, there's chaos in our city. Then you come into our house, there's chaos in our house at times. Like last night when my mom was here and we were having all having a deep conversation, and Roman was putting all of his noisy cars on and flying them across the room and saying, Mom, watch, dad, watch, meme, watch. Like there's chaos everywhere around us. But if we can learn to what's the right word to channel our thoughts. And if we can create peace within our own minds and our own bodies despite what is happening around us, it's a very empowering thing.
Sam:Yeah, of course.
Jaclyn:Do you have anything you want to add to that?
Sam:Well, I mean, I it's a pretty big topic, but, you know, I think a lot of the things that we talk about are all come back to this, you know, as far as um healing thoughts or just managing our thoughts in general, that's such a uh lifelong pursuit, you know, and sometimes I'm better at it than I am other times, and I try to do things that make me consistent with that and different tools, and it's you know, it's always good to be reading new books, even if the books are saying the same thing as so many of the other books that you've read. But when you hear it's they just hit you different. Yeah, when someone says it in a a different way that resonates um more in that period of life that you're in or that season, whatever it is, um, it can really be a big boost and I think kind of reboot that process and and bring it to the forefront.
Jaclyn:Yeah. So let's talk a little bit about the mental noise of modern life. Not only do we have constant stimulation from social media and news cycles and comparison culture, but we also have constant stimulation within our own minds, within our own families. We talked about this last night with my mom. There's so much stimulation, and even if it isn't in your face, you know, if there's angst with a family member, angst with somebody that you love, that's always kind of hanging around in our psyches, right? And there's such a link between thought patterns and emotional and physical health. There are multiple books that you can reference on this. Um, one of them is uh, well, Gabora Mate, I don't know if I'm pronouncing his name right, wrote um a book called When the Body Says No or something along those lines. And then there's another book called The Body Keeps the Score. But if you guys are listening to The Freq Show, you know that there's a link between our thoughts and our physical health. And it is so hard, and I am someone who I feel like has gone down this rabbit hole probably more than the average Joe. But it is so hard sometimes to quiet our thoughts enough to reset and allow our nervous systems to calm down.
Sam:Sure. And I think it's we are inundated with so much now that stimulates thoughts, you know? Like you're talking about zooming out from a a world view, we are constantly bombarded with all of the chaos uh in the world and more than we ever have been before. And being engaged in all of that stuff and all the the um divisive thoughts and uh comments and everything that's going on. I just we're not we're not made to we're not biologically based to all of that stuff and and and have an opinion on absolutely everything. You know what I mean?
Jaclyn:Yeah.
Sam:And so I think a lot of times for me, when I when I'm on X too much or on Instagram, whatever it is, social media, watching the news, there is a you there need to be boundaries on that and limits on that. But when I'm in this in the in the period where I'm consuming more of that than I'm not, that's when I feel uh like I'm not in control of my thoughts as much because I'm allowing all of these different things going on in the world to take up space and cause more chaos in my mind.
Jaclyn:Um We need downtime. I mean, think about our parents' generation. They didn't have cell phones.
Sam:Well, we didn't have cell phones when you know, yeah for a long time.
Jaclyn:14 or 15 when cell phones became a thing, but they weren't as Yeah.
Sam:We didn't have I didn't have an iPhone until I was like 25, 26, something like that.
Jaclyn:I think you had it earlier than that. But anyways, think about this. You know, our parents' generation, they might watch the news or read a newspaper or something, but then there was all this blank space in between stimulation. Now, anytime we have any kind of silence or a break, most of us reach for our phones and we're scrolling, we're reading, we're doing something on our phones, just constantly plugged in. And I think there is a need for what could be called like internal thought hygiene. Just like you brush your teeth morning and night, or hopefully everybody brushes their teeth morning and night. We need thought hygiene. We need to cultivate awareness around our thoughts because they dictate so much of our life. Um, and if we aren't doing that, we're allowing whatever happens to happen versus being in control in as much as we can be, or being in the driver's seat of our lives, right? So let's talk about this thought hygiene concept and talk about some tools for thought healing. Um, one thing that I do daily based on Louise Hayes' recommendation is I have a stack of note cards with affirmations and I read those in the morning when I'm drinking my coffee. And what I have found is you can write them, you can read them, you can record them and listen to them. But what I have found is even when I don't feel energetic and dialed in and like feeling every single feeling of these affirmations, which is a very powerful thing, I still notice a difference and I still notice that things are happening behind the scenes without my pushing, without my direct effort. And when I have my attention on those high vibrational thoughts, those high vibrational um affirmations, it trickles down into other areas of my life. So that would be my first tool for thought healing would be affirmations. Another great tool is journaling. Gosh, I feel like when I'm overloaded, journaling is just one of the best ways to clear out. I know you had a journaling session the other night after a deep talk that we had, so you could clear out. Breath work is amazing, mindset work is amazing. And guys, the reason we created The Freq app was to be this tool in your pocket on your phone whenever you need it. Um, to be able to go in and click on a calibration and just reset your energy, reset your thoughts, and then go back into your day. You know? So, how do you think these tools bring awareness to unconscious belief?
Sam:Well, I think I like to think of it like we're computers. And so you have you you have inputs into the computer, yeah, and that is what ultimately produces the output. And so whatever we're consuming and whatever we're bringing into our minds um is ultimately how we're going to process. So, you know, you hear, you, you hear um what is it? It's shit in, shit out. You know, when you're talking about a system, if you're not if you're putting crap into your brain, then that's going to be kind of how where your thoughts go and how the the reality that you're creating based on those thoughts. So I think all of these tools basically help you get a grip on that and control it and um be intentional, be intentional about how your uh mind is working and the thoughts that you're you're uh the the inputs that you're bringing in in the first place. And then it's kind of like weeding your garden every day. The tools are you're going in, you're getting every taking all the bad stuff out and then refocusing on um, you know, the good things that you should be thinking about.
Jaclyn:Yeah. And I've talked about this before, but we can choose to hit the reset button at any time.
Sam:Yeah.
Jaclyn:Yeah. But I feel like it's much easier to have a really consistent day, week, month if you have a quiet time in the morning. Oh, yeah, for sure. You do this work, whether that be journaling, reading, listening to one of our calibrations, listening to frequency healing music, whatever it is, which we also have that on the freq app. But it's so important to set the tone of your day at the beginning of your day. This episode of The Freq Show is brought to you by The Freq App, your pocket best friend for calibrating your mind and shifting your mindset. If you are ready to transform the way you think about yourself and your life, then you are definitely going to want to get your hands on The Freq App. It combines uplifting audio messages with specific frequencies designed to reprogram your mindset and transform your thoughts. With our custom calibrations, that's what we call these audio messages, you'll discover how healing your thoughts can reshape your life for the better. Whether you're seeking stress relief, motivation, or emotional healing, or any array of high-frequency emotional states, The Freq App offers tailored support organized by frequency and by activity. By frequency, for instance, we have joy, abundance, serenity, self-love, self-worth. By activity, we have walking, cooking, cleaning, legs up the wall, cold plunging, and about 20 other different categories. This app is not just about helping you to feel good. It's about empowering you to live at the highest frequency daily. I created it because I wanted something that would help me shift my mindset easily and quickly whenever I need it. The empowering audio messages are amazing if I say so myself, but what really takes them to the next level is the frequency chosen for each message. Our bodies are made primarily of water, and frequency affects water, literally. And so when you listen to these messages, not only is it helping you reprogram your thoughts by bringing awareness to them, it's also shifting the frequency in your physical being. We also have incredible plans for The Freq App. We want to do a sleep series so you can listen to frequency while you sleep and sleep deeper and better. We want to do a breath work series where we bring in breath work and teach you how to do breath work combined with frequency. We want to do a series for children, helping them understand and deal with their emotions. So we have a bunch of calibrations already in the app, but our plans for expansion are enormous. We have a five-day free trial. You can get it anywhere. Apps are sold, whether that's on the Apple App Store or Android. It's available everywhere. For a very easy way to download it, go to thefreakapp.com and there are links right in there. And that's T-H-E-F-R-E-Q APP.com, thefreqapp.com, and you can get all of the information there. Sam and I have put our hearts and souls into this app. We cannot wait for you to get your ears and eyes on it and give us all of your feedback. Thank you, thank you, thank you in advance for trying it out. And we hope it will be as transformative for you as it has been for us. Live on purpose and live on frequency.
Sam:Yeah, with all of the inputs that we have going coming in, you it's imperative that uh you know you take action every day because if you don't, if you're just walking around on auto autopilot, you're kind of just absorbing everything and not being intentional about um about stuff.
Jaclyn:So yeah. So one of the things that came up in conversation last night that I feel like is so poignant for today, too, is why now? Why do we need thought healing tools now more than ever? And what I would say is there is so much chaos, there is so much uncertainty, there is so much angst, anger, confusion, sadness, grief all around us. And I think every single human being listening to this podcast is somebody who wants to be able to help others, who wants to be able to contribute to society, to our families, to our relationships. And the only way we can foster change is through changing ourselves. It's like the Michael Jackson song, I'm looking in the at the man in the mirror. If we want collective change globally, or let's take it even closer in our families, if we want change, if we want to shift that frequency higher, it has to start with us. It has to start with our thoughts, it has to start with calibrating our energy. And the fastest way, our healer Banya said it, the fastest way to get other people to change is to change yourself.
Sam:Yeah.
Jaclyn:Because they will react to your energy. And this is so, so, so true. I've spent years of my life trying to get relationships into places that I thought would be healthy and good and great for everybody and be like a collective win. But what I've realized is we can't make anyone change, we cannot control anyone else's behavior. We can only control our own. So, in line with thought healing tools, if we really want to create inner change and outer change, it starts with us. And the more of us that link arms and do this difficult work of tuning into higher vibrational thoughts on a daily basis, the better our world will become. And I know that I know that I know that I know that I know that. Does that make sense?
Sam:Yeah, of course. I mean, uh it's the whole rising consciousness uh kind of thought process. But and to add to that, I think that you if if if we are constantly trying to get other people to change, and our objective is to get other people to change, like we we were having the conversation last night just about some relational issues that we have in our family, and not just one, but you know, a number of them. And the desire is for that person to change, for that person to stop acting a certain way, or or you know, treating people a certain way, or whatever it is. But ultimately, like you said, we don't have any control over their thoughts and changing their actions. All we can do is um to make that a better situation is is work on ourselves to either be able to deal with that or limit that relationship or put you know healthy boundaries in there, or be able to really kind of stand in your own truth in that relationship, I think is the objective. So it all comes back to what can I do? How can I grow and how how can I get healthier myself to be able to best handle, manage, um, and move the relationships forward from within my control. Because if we go into it with how are we gonna change these people, or how are we gonna change this relationship and have somebody else change their actions, it's just you know, it's uh it's not gonna happen, most likely, you know. And then that that leads to more frustration and more uh um, you know, distance in those relationships.
Jaclyn:And I think too, it's important to note that as you get healthier, the people around you will either kind of spin in line and want to get healthier with you, or they will spin out of your orbit. And it can feel really hard when there are people that you love that start to spin out of your orbit. Doesn't mean that they won't circle back at some point, doesn't mean that you don't love them so much, but it does mean that there is a separation. And what I have found is that those have been some of the healthiest breaks in relationship for me that have allowed me so much space to cultivate things that I really want to cultivate in my life. Better, higher frequency relationships. So if you're listening and you are going through that where there's disharmony with people that you love, just know that that's part of the process. The more you heal your mind, the more you will either attract people of a like mind or repel people that just aren't ready to do that kind of work yet.
Sam:Yeah. And I think it's important to note that those changes and that um distance that may result from uh your own mindset and the your your the growth of your healthy mindset that causes those people to spin out and spin away. It's not there's guilt that can come along with that because these people have been are very important to you. You know, you love them, you want the best for them, you want the relationship to be something that it it just isn't or hasn't been. Um and that's just part of it. I think there's there's a mourning process in that, there's an acceptance of it. Um, but the most important thing is, you know, to be healthy yourself. And if that's what happens, that's what was meant to happen.
Jaclyn:Well, and I talked about that with my mom last night. You know, at some point, well, let me back that up. You can give and give and give and self-sacrifice and self-sacrifice and go, if I only help them a little bit more, if I only share this resource, if I only have this conversation, if I only meet them here, you can do that ad nauseum forever and ever, your whole life. But the reality is, we can't make anyone do anything that they don't want to do. So at some point, and I have said this to you many times, in 2020, I was reminded of a book that I read called Wild by Cheryl Strade. And the last line of it is how wild it was to let it be. And my default, my tendency is to want to work at something until it is perfected. But how wild it is to let it be, especially in relationships, because we can only control ourselves and our own actions when people are unwilling to have healthy relationships with you, not to be mean, not to cut it off, not to be like a, for lack of a better metaphor, like a Scientologist about it, but to allow it to be like Mel Robbins says, let them and then let me. That has been one of the most empowering things that I have learned over the last five years. And another phrase that my friend Lisa shared with me that is, I am no longer willing or able to do this, or as I like to say it, I'm no longer willing or able to participate in that kind of dynamic. And since I have become more conscious of those dynamics, I feel like my personal growth has accelerated at a much faster rate because I'm not trying to bring everyone with me. I'm not trying to fix everything. I'm not trying to create harmony in relationships with people that don't actually want harmony.
Sam:Yeah. And your progress isn't uh dependent upon somebody else.
Jaclyn:Yes. Oh, how empowering that is. So let's give a few examples of practical thought healing tools that listeners can try today. Um, I already brought brought up the free cap. We have a number of calibrations in there. We launched the app, it's still new. So if there are any bugs, email hello at beckonliving.com and we'll get them figured out. I know some people were trying to make a payment and couldn't, and you know, all the kind of stuff that comes along when you are creating something new in the tech world. But our calibrations are geared toward helping people heal their thoughts and calibrate their energy. So I feel like that is one of the most powerful tools you can tap into. It's um a combination of thought healing messages that Sam and I have written combined with frequency music. And our bodies are made primarily of water, and frequency literally shifts the water in our bodies. So it's a very powerful, powerful tool. Um, and we also have just frequency music in there, too. So if you're wanting to just listen to frequency, you can also go in there and do that. What do you think a good journaling prompt would be for our listeners who need to just unload, get a clean slate? I know you're kind of in this position right now, too, after our conversation last night, where you just want to get back to a neutral spot. What would be a good journaling prompt for them to begin with to start activating higher vibrational thoughts, higher frequency thoughts?
Sam:Well, I don't know like a specific prompt, but I think when I'm in a headspace, kind of honestly, like kind of like I'm in right now, that's just sort of jumbled.
Jaclyn:Yeah.
Sam:Um, the the best thing to do is just start writing and just dumping, like stop trying to brain dump. I try to uh, you know, zero in on exactly what's going on in that moment. I think for me it's just helpful just to take the filter off and just start writing, you know, and then a couple pages or a couple paragraphs you'll start to get some some more clarity. And it's interesting how our our minds work, how they just kind of uh they're working, they're working over it's working overtime when when we aren't even aware of it. And so it's like that even while we're sleeping, that that root is there that you're trying to get to, and you just have to kind of sort through all the mess and until it kind of just comes to light, you know, and and that happens so often is I'll start up here and I have no idea even what I'm thinking, but by the end of the session, it's really kind of zeroed in. Yeah, it provides clarity. Yeah.
Jaclyn:Yeah. And I think a really important note is that this work compounds over time. It's really hard to heal your thoughts and heal your mind like this, or even overnight, or even in a couple of hours. But shifting from one negative thought to a higher frequency thought just one time can be enough to have a domino effect. And then over time, as you continue to cultivate awareness around your thoughts and cultivate awareness around how you're feeling, and you actively shift it and actively do something to change it, that compounds. And before you know it, you're gonna have a totally different life. I think about where we were five years ago, where we are now. And I feel like our hearts are still so similar. Like we are who we are at our core, but our lives have changed so dramatically in five years, not just because we had a child and we have one on the way, but the way we think about things, where we live, how we live, how we eat, how we interact with people, the way we cultivate our friendships, the way we cultivate our business, we have shifted so much.
Sam:Yeah, it's funny. I was trying when we were talking about podcast topics, I like opened my notes in my phone because I was kind of blocked. So I was looking for some inspiration. And I started just scrolling in my notes. Um, and that it goes back like all the way to 2012 and just reading some of the stuff that I wrote in there. Some of it's pretty funny, but it it is there's a common like thread throughout all of that time, to your point of, you know, we're still the same people at our core. And but just how perspective and experience changes that perspective over time is is really uh it's it's fun to be able to go back and and look at that kind of stuff and what I was talking about.
Jaclyn:Yeah. So to wrap this up, your call to action, if you choose, would be to download the free gap and try it. Or if you don't want to do that, listen to something that will motivate you and inspire you and calm your nervous system. You could also do some journaling. And then we'll leave you with a question, which is what's one thought you can reframe today to create a ripple effect in your life? Thank you so much for listening. We're sending each and every one of you so much love. Live on purpose, live on frequency. Thank you so much for listening to the Freq Show with Sam Thurmond and me, Jaclyn Steele Thurmond.
